A strong communicator is a phrase that comes to mind when I think about Chuck. I recently had the opportunity to work with him in my role as Director, Customer & Associate Experience at EXPRESS to bring an additional BPO onboard to support customer contacts prior to holiday. It was an initiative with a very tight timeline and several new stakeholders.

Chuck did a great job of organizing the teams around the deliverables and provided frequent and effective communication outlining what needed to be done, why it was needed and who was responsible. His drive, sense of urgency and focus helped the team stay on track and meet our overall objectives.

As a consultant, I have worked with Chuck for the past year. During this time he was the project manager, leading a very complex project with many moving parts. I worked with Chuck on a marketplace implementation project while with EXPRESS, on which his role was as project manager.

The project encompassed almost every domain in which EXPRESS operates: ecommerce, fulfillment, merchandising, finance, integration, and marketing, among others including vendor management. It had very high visibility, and Chuck easily navigated conversations from software developers to partners to C level executives. He made everyone feel comfortable and a part of the team. He drove the project forward while the team never felt like they were being driven; that is incredibly rare. Often project managers are either "too nice" and can't be persuasive enough to take the ball over the goalline, or out of touch with team constraints and those that are reaching the "boiling point". He was aware of both, and simply got it done.

He also brings a keen sense of strategy to a project. He builds timelines and dependencies, but never with an eye to simply constructing Gantt charts or checking boxes. He always thinks of the project from a business standpoint rather than simple task management. That too, is rare.

I look forward to our next opportunity to collaborate together again. You will have zero regrets about engaging him, but more importantly, you will be far more successful than you initially anticipate.

Chuck Scott is a transformative leader in project management. He was able to build and augment the team structure at DeviceBits in a way that truly revolutionary. Chuck is a phenomenal Project Manager! He came into a complicated, cross-shore project that was disorganized and immediately placed structure around the project. It allowed for a clear identification of deliverables for the project team to follow. As there were teams in 3 time zones and two partners in China, it can be difficult keeping everyone organized. Chuck did a great job!

I've had the pleasure of working closely with Chuck over the last year. Chuck was our project manager and did an excellent job keeping our project on track.
